Were you a victim of childhood molestation, rape and/or incest?

This month, Comedian Kathy Griffin announces her brother was a pedaphile. Meanwhile, Rosie 'O Donnell vaguely states she was sexually abused as a child. One of the celebrity shockers of the last decade was Mackenzie Phillips proclaimation of her "relationship" with her rocker father John Phillips. Relationship??? Incest.

One of the most impactful moments in our American pop culture was the day a teary-eyed Oprah Winfrey stated she was molested at age 4 and raped by a cousin, uncle and family friend by age 9. Since that show, Oprah has lead crusades against child molesters, produced several shows to address the issue and to create healing solutions. She was horrified by the activities of her own school in Africa where a matron raped girls and she immediately began to address the problem. In the film "Precious", again along with the author and director Oprah reminds us of not only the act of molestation and rape, but the aftermath of a mongoloid child born as a result.

What was a somewhat taboo topic gave the victims of childhood molestation the freedom and a forum for a national discussion and dialogue of healing. An increase in support groups gathered asking "Were you a victim of molestation, rape and/or incest too?"
